Glenn Beck: “No offense, California, but beat it, deadbeat!” Glenn Beck, Fox News 1/30/09 Yet another America lover demonstrates his patriotism. In the course of talking with right wing author Jack Cashill about Cashill’s book, What’s the Matter With California? Glenn Beck says that he thinks California should be kicked out of the union for its liberal ways. Let’s see now - in addition to being the third largest state in the country, taking up some 770 miles of the west coast and having the highest population, California has been estimated, as of 2007, to have the largest gross state product in the country. We’re the home of significant US industries like entertainment, agriculture, aerospace, computers, high tech… And Mr. Beck likes the idea of the US losing more than half of its western coastline, 2,260,648 of its citizens and 13% of its GDP. He thinks it would be a good idea to rescind our statehood. Right, Mr. Beck. You do that. Trackbacks

Why in the world would you want to add more problems to the rest of the country by " kicking California out of the Union". We had some states that tried to leave the Union before and it caused one heck of a civil war amongst our
fore-fathers and the states trying to leave got beat up and defeated in their attempt and in some ways are still re- covering from ideas of that time era.....besides if it were possible and I'm not saying that it's not since you started it, how could we keep the Californians from leaving and inter- mingling amongst us as one of us with their liberal ideas when we can't keep the illegal Mexican immigrants out. You are compounding the problem with such remarks. What you should have said was "we need to shoot the liberals and free the depressed from that state." At least you would still have one friend left in California compared to none now! |
