Judges rule Franken winner; Coleman to appeal
Minneapolis Tribune Three judges soundly rejected Norm Coleman's attempt to reverse Al Franken's lead in the U.S. Senate election late Monday, sweeping away the Republican's claims in a blunt ruling Coleman promised to appeal.But Coleman has faith in the Scalia 5, and hopes that Fat Tony will help the GOP steal another election, thus he will cite Bush v. Gore and appeal. It will be interesting to see if Fat Tony has the balls do it again. Coleman's case was dismissed with prejudice, which is the court's way of telling you they are pissed off and intend to make you pay all of the court's costs and the defendants costs because your case lacked legal merit and/or was frivolous. I scanned the opinion, and if I read it correctly (never a certain bet), the court actually cited Bush v. Gore in its ruling. Won't THAT be a sticky wicket for SCOTUS....
Lex, Lex, Lex, there you go again citing logic. Citing Bush v. Gore was stupid in the first place since Scalia made it clear in the opinion that the decision was only to be applied to that particular election theft, an was not to be used as precedent. (Some would argue that kind of flies in the face of the purpose of the SCOTUS, but what do I know.
I was just curious to see if Scalia would be dick enough to use the decision to hand the election to another Republican. |
